OBSTACLE 1: ARROGANCE
Verse 12: Arrogance is the attitude of pride or overconfidence.
It leaves no room for learning and growth.
OBSTACLE 2: ARRIVAL
Verse 13a: The false belief that you have “arrived” is an enemy to making progress in our resolutions.

OBSTACLE 4: ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The secret of progress is to concentrate on “one thing”. We must devote ourselves to running the "Christian race." No athlete succeeds by specializing. There are few athletes who are proficient in many sports, but they are the exception.
Many people are controlled by the past, but the spiritual person running the race looks toward the future.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
-Isaiah 43:18-19
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
-Philippians 3:14
Verse 13c:
If you focus on your individual accomplishments too much it makes it about you and causes you to stay in the past too long.
Verse 14:
An “uncaring” attitude causes you to be apathetic and nonchalant about your future.
